Figma
My brief work with Figma over the past few weeks has been so fun and easy. I have found Figma to be an amazing tool in creating a prototype of applications, the designer is able to easily move every element around the provided frame of a phone. I found once I watched a few introduction videos I knew about most of the controls in the design screen and from there I was able to start building the app and the layout I wanted. It was great to see how quickly my design came to life, this was purely due to all the elements needed to build it being readily available in that front design screen.
As I got further into my design I was shown and then continued to discover how to make it a testable prototype, linking all the different elements together. This process of linking screens together also helped me to discover any problems the app would face if certain links weren’t coded in. A problem, I realised as I started linking pages, was that there was no way to manually go to the subscription page to then continue using the application after the free 14 day trial. This problem was easily solved by putting a ‘subscribe’ button into the menu.
In conclusion, I thoroughly enjoyed building my application prototype on the Figma platform as it is a fun and easy platform to use.
